Crucial negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program commenced on Friday morning (26.07.2025) in Istanbul, between Iran and the European E3 group (France, Britain, Germany), according to an eyewitness cited by Reuters. The delegations met at Iran’s consulate in Istanbul, marking their first in-person contact following June’s strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities by the U.S. and Israel.

Iran remains firm in its stance. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi stated that Tehran’s position remains ‘stable and unwavering.’ ‘Uranium enrichment will continue. We will not abandon this fundamental right of the Iranian people,’ he said in a video broadcast by state media. He also emphasized that these talks are a continuation of previous contacts. Tehran sees the meeting as an opportunity for Europe to reevaluate its approach. According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Bagai, today’s meeting presents a ‘valuable opportunity to correct their perspective on the Iranian nuclear program,’ as reported to the official IRNA news agency.
