Iran Executes Three Spies Amid Crackdown on Alleged Israeli Collaborators

Iran has arrested 700 individuals accused of espionage, allegedly linked to Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency. The arrests occurred during the ’12-Day War’ between the two nations in June 2025. Authorities have executed three suspects by hanging: Intiris Ali, Azand Sozai, and Rasoul Ahmad. They were convicted of attempting to smuggle illegal weapons for assassinations within Iran. These executions took place in Urmia, near the Turkish border, with authorities releasing photos of the condemned men in blue prison uniforms. Another alleged Mossad collaborator was also hanged on Monday. Iranian officials frequently announce arrests and executions of suspected foreign spies, particularly those tied to Israel, their sworn enemy. In response to a recent unprecedented Israeli offensive on June 13, Iran vows to expedite judicial proceedings related to national security cases. According to NGO estimates, Iran ranks second globally in execution numbers, following China.
