Iran Condemns NATO Secretary General’s Praise for Trump’s Nuclear Strikes

In a fierce statement today (June 25, 2025), Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly criticized NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte for congratulating U.S. President Donald Trump on the strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities. On Tuesday (June 24, 2025), President Trump publicly shared the personal message from the NATO Secretary General, filled with praise and flattering remarks about his actions regarding the Israel-Iran conflict. This message sparked outrage in Tehran, with Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei calling it ‘shameful, despicable, and irresponsible’ for the NATO chief to applaud what he described as a criminal act against a sovereign state. Baghaei further added that anyone supporting such a crime is considered an accomplice. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Rutte has not ceased his support for Trump, praising him today for increasing defense spending within NATO.
