Ioannina: Large landslide in Zitsa – One National Road traffic stream closed

After the rainfall of the last few days a large one occurred on Wednesday morning (6.3.2024) in the area of Zitsa in the village of Asfaka. In fact, the one traffic stream of the National Road of Ioannina – Konitsa has been closed since morning. According to reports by epiruspost.gr tons of soil and stones were detached from the mountain and ended up on the road to a point of Ioannina where smaller landslides had been recorded in the past. Civil Protection machines are operating at the point. Work, however, will continue over the next few hours in order to remove dirt and rocks from the pavement. At this time the traffic of cars takes place in a lane.
