Insurance companies: At 5.4 billion euros the production of insurance premiums of 2023 – First insurance against losses, second life

In 2023, production and contract rights in Greece increased, reaching 5.4 billion euros, according to a report by the Greek Union (EEE). The premium production in 2023 recorded a significantly higher rate than the previous year, with an acceleration of 8.2% from 4.5%, while at deflated prices the increase was of 4.6%, according to insurance company data. CORVERSE In the first place of insurance production were loss insurance with an increase of 11.7% to 2.86 billion euros, while 2.54 billion euros came from life insurance with an increase of 4.5%. Insurance Against Damage and Life With regard to damage insurance, 41% of the production of insurance premiums is occupied by the sectors of land vehicle liability and land vehicles, with an increase of 6.1% over 2022. The first industry experienced an increase of 3.2% and the second by 15.1%. In particular, the three sectors relating to property insurance, which are also at the heart of climate change, i.e. fire and elements of nature, other damage of goods and various financial losses, raised 22.8% of total loss insurance production with an increase in jobs of 12.9%. In terms of life insurance, 44.5% of total insurance production was taken over by the Life sector (though reduced by 7.94%), followed by life insurance linked to investment and group pension funds management with an increase of 16.9% and 18.2%, respectively.
