Informatics: 92% of jobs will change due to artificial intelligence

The debate on its impact on the future is open, but will undoubtedly bring revolutionary changes to society. The recently established AI-Enabled ICT Workforce Consortium in which computer giants participate published its opening report, entitled “The Transformer Opportunity of AI on ICT Jobs”, which reveals that 92% of IT jobs will be transformed more or less due to advances in artificial intelligence. In particular, the study argues that the biggest changes will be observed in medium-level jobs (40%) and initial level (37%), as some skills and skills become more or less relevant. The ethics of artificial intelligence, responsible artificial intelligence, rapid engineering, artificial intelligence education and the architecture of large language models (LLM) are expected to become of importance in this new era, while traditional data management, content creation, documentation maintenance, basic programming and languages and research information will become less necessary. Therefore, the report states that critical skills are required for all IT jobs and that is why the consortium seeks to enable workers to upgrade their skills. This comprehensive analysis provides information on the impact of artificial intelligence on technological jobs, as the AI-Enabled ICT Workforce consortium consists of some of the industry’s top names — Cisco, Accenture, Eightfold, Google, IBM, Insided, Intel, Microsoft and SAP — and provides advice among others from the American Federation of Labor, the Federation of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), the European Association for Vocational Training (EVTA), Khan Academy and SMEunited. To produce the report, the consortium examined the impact of artificial intelligence on 47 IT jobs in seven working groups: businesses and management, cybersecurity, data science, design and user experience, infrastructure and functions, software development and testing and quality assurance. Francine Katsuda, director of staff, politics and purpose in Cisco, the company leading the consortium, said: “Athetic intelligence represents an unprecedented opportunity for technology to benefit humanity in every way and we must ensure that people do not fall behind”. The training commitment by the consortium Mrs. Katsoudas explained that “to all the consortium members, we have assumed the collective responsibility of educating and upgrading 95 million people over the next 10 years. Investing in a long-term road map for an inclusive workforce, we can help everyone participate and thrive in the AI era.” In detail, the members of the consortium have undertaken the following training commitments: Cisco: Train 25 million people in cybersecurity and digital skills by 2032 IBM: Train 30 million people by 2030 in digital skills, including 2 million in artificial intelligence by the end of 2026 Intel: Train more than 30 million people with AI skills for current and future jobs by 2030 Microsoft: To train and certify 10 million people in digital skills by 2025 (target that says he overcame a year earlier than schedule) SAP: Upgrade skills of 2 million people around the world by 2025 Google: Funding over $130 million to support artificial intelligence education and skills for individuals in the US, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
