An 80-year-old man tragically lost his life after being attacked by a crocodile while swimming in a river in Indonesia. The reptile grabbed him as he bathed in the Semaka River, near his home. Locals witnessed the horrifying incident and attempted to rescue the elderly man by all means possible. Witnesses captured shocking video footage of the dramatic struggle to pull the man’s body from the crocodile’s jaws. According to local media reports, the crocodile attacked without warning, dragging the victim underwater before anyone could react. A local resident discovered the man’s clothes, and soon after, the crocodile was spotted holding the body in its mouth. ‘After hitting the crocodile multiple times with sticks, the animal finally released the body, but the victim had already passed away,’ said a police spokesperson. Indonesia has recorded the highest number of crocodile attacks on humans globally, with 1,000 incidents reported over the past decade, though concerns remain that the actual figure may be far higher.
