Last night about 40 points of snow have covered the city while the severe snowfall as a result of cancelled hundreds of flights and interrupted shipping in the Bosporus.
According to the national weather service, snowfall is expected to continue throughout the day, although the storm will blow over in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain below zero for several days yet.
