In the final line are now their invitations for road and rail rehabilitation in the regions of Thessaly and Central Greece after the devastating floods “Daniel” and “Elias”. These are projects totalling EUR 1.35 billion and the tender procedure is expected at the beginning of December. In fact, as announced by the House step, the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Nikos Tachiaos, 5 – 6 December, will be sent the invitations to technical companies in order to participate in rapid execution competitions. The projects will be carried out under Article 32 of Law 4412/2019, a negotiation procedure with candidates without prior publication, facilitates the conduct of quick procedures for the award of public works under exceptional circumstances. Rail projects The projects of 460m euros are necessary for the restoration of the Athens-Thessaloniki railway line, currently in the Domokos section. Larissa operates with a line and also the regional lines Paleofarsalos – Kalambaka and Larissa- Volos which have also been put out of service. In particular, the projects to be auctioned are the following: Restoration of the double railway line of Athens – Thessaloniki, from the exit of S.S. Domokos (Ch.A. 288 + 600) to the entrance of S.S. Kranonas (Χ.Θ. 328 + 840) after the natural disasters “Daniel” and “Elias” with a budget of EUR 173,600,000 (tax incl.). Restoration of the Paleofarsalo – Kalambakas single railway line, in localised sections of the line, after the ‘Daniel’ and ‘Elias’ natural disasters with a budget of EUR 57,660,000 (VAT). Restoration of the single railway line Larissa – Volos after the natural disasters of “Daniel” and “Elias”, with a budget of €181.660.000 (VAT). Repair work of the Volos – Mileon railway line from the S.S. Upper Legions (C.I. 12 + 500) to the Mileon S.S. (C.I. 28 + 200) after the natural disasters “Daniel” and “Elias”, with a budget of 1,860,000,00 euros (tax incl.). Restoration of Signalling Systems, ETCS L1, Telecommunications and Electricity in the section of the dual rail line from the Palaiofarsalo S.A. (Ch.I. 296 + 245) to S.S. Crannon (CI 336 + 330) destroyed by the bad weather “Daniel”, with a budget of 37,200. EUR 000,00 (tax incl.). Road projects The road projects amounting to EUR 900 million concern emergency infrastructure damage rehabilitation projects from the intense weather phenomena of Daniel and Elias. Work will take place over a total length of 159 km of road network, including 110 bridges and resources will be distributed per regional unit as follows: 33% Magnesia, 25% Trikala, 21% Karditsa, 9.5% Larissa, 9.5% Euboea and 2% Autumn. These are: Restoration projects in the Municipality of Zagora – Mouresi, South Pelion, Volos and Riga Feraiou, with a budget of €278.2 million. Restoration projects in the Municipality of Argithea, Lake Plastira, Meteora and Gate, with a budget of 267.5m euros. Restoration projects in the municipalities of Tempon, Tyrnavos, Elassonas, Agia, Larissa, Farkadon, Kiler, Palamas, Mousaki, Trikkaion and Karditsa, with a budget of 184m euros. Restoration projects in the municipalities of Istiaia, Madoudi, Domokos, Lamia, Almyrou, Farsala and Sofiadon with a budget of 170m euros. Financing and implementation The resources from the Recovery Fund amount to EUR 600 million and are divided into EUR 420 million for road and another EUR 180 million for rail. The public expenditure amounts to EUR 396,6 million and EUR 226,86 million respectively. The mission of invitations to technical companies to conduct the fast track competitions, as mentioned above, is expected in the next period, since the ministry’s aim is to run projects to restore damage to both the rail and road networks immediately.
