The Ukrainian President announced today (19.11.2024) that the must increase production on both drones and long-range missiles, with the aim of strengthening its military forces. American President, Joe Biden, authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS-type ballistic missiles against targets on Russian soil and Volontimir Zelensky takes advantage of the timing to instruct the defence industry to support the country’s missile capabilities. During a speech to the Ukrainian parliament, as part of a presentation of the resilience plan for Ukraine, President Zelenski said that unmanned aircraft would compensate for the lack of ammunition for the artillery systems of the Ukrainian Land Army. REUTERS/Gleb Garanich It is noted that Ukraine is pursuing the production of at least 30,000 long-range drones for 2025, while in progress is the construction of a technological centre for their design and subsequent development. Zelenski then stressed that the need to produce 3,000 cruise missiles and also unmanned single-track aircraft (which will operate as precision missiles) for 2025, in order to be used as a “answer” to the Iranian-built drones “kamikazi” launched by Russia. 8th United States Army/Handout via REUTERS/File Photo In fact, the Ukrainian President revealed that great progress has been made in: the development programme of domestic construction of Palianytsia-type drones, a programme to develop Ukrainian ballistic missiles, the first test of which took place on 27 August, and the Neptune-type cruise missile development programme, which had sunk the Russian flagship “Moskva”. President Zelenski’s statements were made a few hours after the Kremlin announced about it in updating the Russian nuclear doctrine.
