In favour of their return to our country is British public opinion, according to a poll by YouGov in . 53% of those surveyed by YouGov in the United Kingdom supported the return of the Parthenon Sculptors. Only 24% said against, while 23% replied that he had no opinion. A total of 4,280 adults were asked throughout the territory. The poll was published on Monday, December 2. The exact question was: “The British Museum in London hosts the Parthenon Sculptures (also known as Elgania Marmara), a set of classical Greek sculptures removed from the Parthenon in Athens, 200 years ago by Lord Elgin. Some believe Britain should return the Marbles to Greece, while others believe that they should stay here. Do you personally believe that Britain should return the Marmara Elgyne to Greece or maintain them in Britain? Meanwhile, a representative of the British Archaeological Museum asked about the progress of the negotiations replied that “the discussions with Greece about the Parthenon are continuous and constructive. We believe that long-term cooperation will achieve the right balance between sharing our largest objects with the public worldwide and maintaining the integrity of our incredible collection in the museum.” As we know, the Greek side and the British side are in advanced talks about the Reunification of the Parthenon’s Sculptors. The great thorn in the negotiations is still the proprietary regime. The British do not accept that they belong to us and we do not accept taking them in the form of a loan. As a more dominant solution, they appear to be transferred to Athens in the form of a Deposit. That is, the British will retain ownership, but Greece will have the right of use, without having to recognise the ownership status. The Greek side discusses the issue basically with the British Museum, which is also the responsible one. Sir Kir Starmer has long said that he does not intend to bring obstacles if there is finally an agreement between Greece and the British Museum.
