Ilara: 16 deaths from the epidemic – In which European countries are cases growing

He warns tourists travelling to Europe to pay particular attention to the outbreak of incidents, which has caused the death of 16 people. In 2024 16 measles-related deaths have been reported in the European Union, reporting new cases in 23 countries. According to the European Public Health Agency (EEAS) from 15 May to 10 June 2024 are recorded in Romania (new: 3.267, total 2024: 15,341), Austria (27 new, total 2024: 446). Also, in Italy (new: 186, total: 348), Germany (new: 59, total 2024: 333) and Poland (new: 63, total 2024: 191). Of the 16 confirmed deaths due to the epidemic, 15 occurred in Romania and one in Ireland. That is why the EOPI is ringing the alarm of danger for those intending to travel within the next space beyond Romania. Outside the European Union – Eurozone From 6 May to 3 June 2024 11 confirmed cases of measles from Switzerland (total 87 cases for 2024) were reported. In 2024 914 confirmed cases of measles have been reported by the United Kingdom. In non-EU countries most confirmed cases refer to Kazakhstan (24.702), Azerbaijan (16.122), Russia (10.051) and Kyrgyzstan (9.011). Instructions for measles from the EOIM Travellers, children and adults in case-blown countries are recommended to confirm their full vaccination with two doses of the trivalent measles-red-parositis vaccine (MMR vaccine) prior to the trip. With regard to Europe, particular attention is being paid to travellers in Romania.
