IKEA Recalls Outdoor Lighting Due to Faulty Wiring

IKEA is recalling certain outdoor lighting products due to a wiring issue that poses a potential safety hazard. According to the company’s official recall notice, IKEA is urging all customers who own LED string lights and outdoor LED lamps from the LEDLJUS, SOMMARLÅNKE, STRÅLA, SVARTRÅ, and UTSUND product lines to immediately stop using them and contact IKEA. The issue stems from a manufacturing defect in the wiring of these products, which fails to meet relevant safety standards, potentially leading to electric shock. Affected products can be identified by the name of the LED wire, the date code printed on the LED wire, and the specific model name. IKEA emphasizes that customer safety is their top priority and explains that despite rigorous testing protocols, a specific wire used in these products does not comply with water ingress restriction standards due to the manufacturing flaw. The affected products include various models of outdoor LED string lights and lamps. Customers are advised to cease using the recalled items immediately and return them to any IKEA store for a replacement or full refund without needing a purchase receipt.
