Hydra: Blackout After Strong Storm – Island Without Power for Over 3 Hours

Severe problems have been caused by the bad weather hitting several areas of the country today (June 21, 2025), as the strong storm led to a power outage on the island of Hydra. The island has been without electricity for over 3 hours, according to reports, following heavy rain that fell on the island and surrounding areas shortly after 5:00 PM. Two electricity poles have collapsed, and an emergency team from DEDDHE has rushed to the scene to repair the damage. So far, no further details about the restoration time of the electricity supply have been announced. Hydra Mayor Giorgos Koukoudakis stated in a press release that the power outage is due to damage in the Peloponnese, and efforts are underway to restore power as soon as possible.
