The thief with the knife, the blonde woman who scouted stores before the attacks, and the third member who planned the heists formed the notorious ‘three-person gang’ that had become a growing fear for pharmacies, kiosks, and mini-markets in Daphni, Ymittos. The police officer in charge of capturing the gang described in detail how they were apprehended.
According to his statement: ‘I am an officer serving at the local security department. I was assigned by my supervisor to locate unknown perpetrators who committed four robberies in the broader area of Daphne-Ymittos on June 2nd, June 9th, June 10th, and June 14th. All incidents were carried out by a male suspect aged between 30 and 40 years old—slim, around 1.80 meters tall, carrying a black crossbody bag containing a knife which he brandished to demand money from the cash register.’
Police officers reviewed surveillance footage which revealed that the same person was responsible for all four crimes. In three of the four cases, he wore a dark grey shirt labeled ‘manor 88’ with white stars. In one case, he wore a white helmet. Visible tattoos on both arms and under his left ear—a cross-shaped tattoo—helped identify him. His facial features and body structure matched across all recorded incidents.
Additionally, during the second robbery, a blonde woman was seen waiting for him on a motorcycle. The legal perspective provided by the suspects’ lawyer, Evangelos Troumpetaris, stated: ‘The case is currently before the examining magistrate, and my clients’ statements are scheduled for Friday. Any official response will be made in court as stipulated by law.’
