The Ministry of Development has announced that the measures related to the Household Basket will be extended until October 31. This includes the prohibition of discounts for three months after an auction, mandatory announcements of price list increases by supermarkets, and the announcement of fruit and vegetable prices. The relevant legislative regulation for the extension is expected to be submitted to Parliament soon, according to the Ministry’s announcement. This announcement comes alongside the extension of profit caps on food and fuel for two months (until June 30 instead of April 30). It is noted that market conditions have significantly improved in recent months, with food and essential goods inflation at very low levels, being the lowest among Eurozone countries, and fuel prices having dropped significantly from last year.
