A chilling crime has emerged from Thailand, where the body of a 17-year-old woman was discovered inside a suitcase. A 46-year-old Australian man has been arrested in connection with the case, according to Thai police in Pattaya. Speaking to AFP, a police official confirmed the suspect remains in custody following interrogation but continues to deny all allegations.
Arrest at Bangkok Airport
The man was apprehended late Wednesday night at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok as he attempted to purchase a flight ticket to Perth. Surveillance footage shows him entering a building in the popular tourist resort of Pattaya on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, accompanied by the teenage girl. Hours later, he is seen exiting alone, carrying a large black suitcase — which he loads onto the back of a scooter.
Body Discovered Near Railway Tracks
Police located the suitcase the following day beside railway tracks. Inside, they found the teenager’s body, bearing visible injuries, reports Pattaya News.
Charges Pending Forensic Results
Authorities are awaiting autopsy findings and additional forensic evidence before formally charging the suspect with kidnapping a minor for sexual purposes, murder, and concealing a corpse.
