The regional Governor of Crete Stavros Arnaoutakis in his statements he mentioned: “With joy we welcomed the Ambassador of Korea to the island. We discussed the possibilities of growth of Cretan exports to Korea, and, indeed, there is a special interest for olive oil and wine. Already there are upward trends, we believe that, with the help of mr Καράτζη, we will reinforce these efforts as it will increase the tourist flow from Korea to the island. Required partnerships, synergies for the achievement of the objectives, the prospects are positive”.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea If Jong Jeep said: “we are Investigating the possibilities of increasing economic cooperation, because we know as a country of quality products produced by the island of Crete as it is the oil and the wine. Already we have started imports of Cretan olive oil and wine, and we aim to increase of these imports in Korea.”
Finally, from the side of the Consul general of Korea in Crete, Antonis Καράτζης pointed out: “there Is an effort to strengthen the partnerships Korea and Crete, to create synergies such that to increase our exports especially in the oil and the wine that are considered to be of the highest quality for the Koreans. Also the promotion of the tourist product of Crete, Greece visiting annually about 50,000 Koreans. Mr. Ambassador called Crete “hidden treasure” and we hope to have more tourists from Korea in the next few years”.
