Following an order from the Public Prosecutor at the Heraklion Court, the identity and photographs of a middle school principal accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student have been released to the public. The 63-year-old man from Heraklion was remanded in custody and is facing criminal charges for rape and other sexual offenses against a minor. He is specifically accused of committing sexual acts, exerting physical force, and abusing a minor under his supervision, as both a guardian and educator.

This decision by the prosecution aims to protect minors and uphold societal values, emphasizing the state’s commitment to punishing such crimes. The case came to light after the 14-year-old girl and her mother filed a complaint with the Heraklion Police Department, alleging indecent behavior on two separate occasions.

According to the victim, the first incident occurred inside a ship cabin while returning from Athens, where she had attended a martial arts seminar. The 63-year-old had a trusted relationship with the family and accompanied the girl due to their shared involvement in martial arts. A second alleged incident reportedly took place at the end of April at the defendant’s home.

The release of his details marks a rare legal move intended to serve justice and prevent future harm.
