Heraklion: 42-Year-Old Attempted Suicide by Drinking Chlorine – Critically Hospitalized

A 42-year-old man was urgently transferred to the Venizelio Hospital on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, after attempting suicide by ingesting chlorine. The suicide attempt occurred in a house in Heraklion during the afternoon when the man fell into a coma due to consuming a large quantity of chlorine. An EKAB ambulance arrived at the scene and transported him to the regional hospital, where it was deemed necessary to intubate him in the ICU, according to neakriti.gr. He is currently being treated in critical condition as doctors fight to save his life. So far, the reason behind the man’s decision has not been disclosed.
