Heraklion: 23-Year-Old Arrested for Raping German Tourist – Mistook Him for His Partner

An unprecedented incident occurred at a hotel in the municipality of Hersonissos, Crete, where a 23-year-old man mistook his partner for another man and committed a shocking act. The young Portuguese national, who lives and works in the area of Hersonissos, had consumed large amounts of alcohol and was heavily intoxicated when he entered a hotel room. Inside the room, a 22-year-old German tourist was sleeping with his girlfriend. The 23-year-old pulled back the sheets and proceeded to sexually assault the German national. When the victim realized what was happening, he raised the alarm and alerted the police, who swiftly arrested the suspect on charges of rape. Upon regaining his senses, the accused told the police that he had confused his partner with the German tourist.
