Hengas has set a goal to further develop its natural gas networks in various regions under its responsibility. Recently, the energy regulatory authority approved the company’s investment plan for the period 2025-2029, which has a budget close to €60 million and includes the construction of distribution networks for natural gas. The projects cover the municipalities of Deskati, Paeonia, Polygyros, Edessa, Naoussa, Skydra, Tripoli, Corinth, Megalopolis, Kalamata, Voiou, Velventos, Servia, and Nea Propontida. Hengas’ plan aims to expand the total low-pressure network from 120 km by 2023 to 216 km by 2029 and the corresponding medium-pressure network from 14.6 km to 19 km. Additionally, the number of meters is expected to increase significantly from 3,236 to 15,074. Detailed plans for each municipality are outlined, including specific lengths of pipelines and pressure systems.
