Her support for her husband, on the occasion of his intense criticism for his satire to this year’s winner of Eurovision, Nemo, expressed the last performance at Delphinario on Sunday evening (23.9.24). At the end of the performance in which she starred with Marko Seferlis, Helena Tsavalia proceeded to a touching confession shortly after the troupe bowed, looking tears into her husband’s eyes and the audience. “Some of your friends abandoned you in the first month of running this theater and we stayed you and me with 600,000 euros in debt, with a baby in arms and with you wanting to pursue this dream, which almost looked like suicide. And I told you, let’s go kill ourselves together. And that’s how I became your rock, your angel and all the nice things you say I am about you,” the actress said initially. “I have seen little girls from our son’s age up to much older with all their body members open, in order to get a role, either because they believe that the theatre works, or because that’s the only way they can work in theatre. I’ve seen everything,” Elena Tsavalia continued with difficulty keeping her emotion. “I have seen reptiles crawling next to you and licking you in order to feel something of what you are experiencing. I’ve seen predators trying to cut a piece of your flesh, some of them did it already. I have seen people on stage coming to work with you, with talent, with morals, with knowledge, with loyalty,” he said. And he concluded: “From all these I want to keep only the first people and above and below the stage, because you may be iconic on stage but without the people we would not have succeeded.”
