In her own way she responded to the “fire” she accepted because she did not participate in the nationwide strike on Wednesday (20.11.2024), which was also actively supported by the Hellenic Association (SEH). The well-known actress clarified her position, stressing that the uncompromising role of her and as a theatre producer does not allow her to take part in the strike, as did the winter of 2023. Helen Radu stressed that as a producer she does not belong to the Association, so she is not obliged to strike. “I am a producer, I do not belong to the SAH, I am forbidden to belong to the Association. So I do not have to strike practically, formally, because it’s like striking against me. I asked to join the Association and help but was banned because of my position as producer,” Eleni Radu stressed. “From then on my position is clearly with the rights of people working in theatre. I just have a peculiar theatrical attitude to fund my own business. I am self-financing, which in short means that I am the boss of others,” explained the actress on television cameras immediately afterwards. “My fight is not this strike but to make the quality of life of the actors who work for me better, to race for their collective contract. Each, depending on his position, makes his own fight. It does not mean that not striking is not a man with the rights of the people who strike,” he clarified Helen Radu on the much discussed issue.
