Healthcare Workers to Be Included in Hazardous Jobs Scheme

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis confirmed that healthcare professionals will be included in Greece’s hazardous and unhealthy occupations scheme, stating: “The door is wide open.” This follows Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s recent remarks in Ioannina, where he assured health workers of the government’s commitment. Marinakis emphasized that while the political will and intention are clear, the implementation timeline depends on fiscal feasibility. “We’re not discussing intent — we’re discussing when and how to resolve pending issues,” he said. Mitsotakis had responded to a health professional’s question with: “Have trust in us — that’s all I can say.”
