Hawaii: Kilauea volcano, one of the most active in the world

One of the most active in the world, Kilauea, in its American archipelago, re-entered a phase of explosive activity, notified the American institute of geophysical studies (USGS). The Kilauea volcano began to “grow” on Monday (03.02.2025), the 8th lava launch episode, in less than two months. CORVERSE Scientists at Volcano Observatory stated that the last episode of continuous lava launch began at 9:52 p.m. on Monday. Kilauea’s alert level remains in orange color while all recent activity is within Hawaii National Volcano Park. Kilauea is active after taking a cup of days off. MISCELLANEOUS — James Hamilton (@Hammer56799) Kilauea has remained in an almost permanent phase of explosive activity since 1983. The previous explosion was recorded in September 2024. It is part of six active volcanoes in Hawaii, along with Mauna Loa, the largest on the globe. Loook who’s woken up again This is the eight episode of this eruption — Volcaholic (@volcaholic1) Although smaller than this latter, it is more active and appreciated by tourists due to spectacular lava and pyroclastic launches.
