This evening, Attica Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias presented a detailed assessment of the first 30 months of his administration, alongside a comprehensive development and operational plan for the next two-and-a-half years. Speaking at a special open event held at the Athens Concert Hall, Hardalias sent a clear message about accelerating public works, institutional consistency, and full accountability to citizens.
A Transparent Account of Progress
The event brought together members of the national government, representatives from local self-government, the Armed Forces, the Church, chambers of commerce, academia, the business community, as well as numerous civil society organizations and citizen groups. In front of this broad audience, Hardalias outlined — with concrete data, timelines, and financial figures — the status of 352 ongoing projects and interventions across all 66 municipalities in the Attica basin.
As highlighted during the presentation, 58.81% of the total agenda announced prior to the elections is already underway. Key focus areas include flood and wildfire protection, road safety, environmental sustainability, social cohesion, and entrepreneurship.
“The time for accountability has come. It’s time to render account — to the citizens of Attica’s 66 municipalities. From day one, we prioritized on-the-ground presence, hard work, and measurable results — not media hype or easy promises. We are now halfway through our term, and have already set 58.81% of our overall plan in motion,” said Hardalias, joined on stage by all 51 regional councillors from his coalition — underscoring the collective nature of the effort and the contribution of the entire administrative team.
He added: “We are not here today to claim that everything is done, or that no problems remain. We’re here to clearly present what we inherited, what we’ve advanced, what we’re changing, and what we commit to completing — accounting for every euro, maximizing the impact of every available resource.” As an example, he pointed to the Athens Concert Hall itself — where the event was held — which underwent renovation and modernization funded by the Regional Programme ‘Attica 2021–2027’.
352 Projects Across Attica
The overall plan unveiled by Hardalias comprises 352 projects and interventions, with a total budget of €2.587 billion. These include over 300 infrastructure projects and more than 50 targeted interventions, distributed across all regional units and covering the entire Attica basin. The aim is for every area to receive the infrastructure, protective measures, and development opportunities it truly needs.
