Hanged 15 “terrorists and criminals” in Jordan

Fifteen Jordanians, who had been sentenced to death for terrorism and other crimes, were hanged at dawn…
in Jordan, as announced by the government spokesman. Mahmoud Al Μομανί, who is also the minister of Information, said that the convicts were executed in the prison of Σουάγκα, which is located south of Amman, such as transmitting agency, Petra.
Ten of the executed were convicted of “participation in a terrorist cell” who is behind several attacks. Among them are the attacks “in the office of general information of the Jordan, against members of the security forces and against the embassy in Baghdad in 2003,” added Al Μομανί. The remaining five were convicted of “terrible crimes, including rape”, also supported the government’s representative.
The last mass execution in Jordan, had become in December of 2014 when they had hanged eleven men.
The country participates in the international coalition which is conducting air strikes against the organization Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. The kingdom has been hit by four bloody attacks in 2016. It is estimated that thousands of Jordanians are supporters of the self-styled Islamic State and Al-Qaeda.
