A 34-year-old man has been arrested after a month-long investigation by Greek authorities, who identified him as the suspect behind a series of robberies targeting kiosks and pharmacies in areas including Daphni, Neos Kosmos, Nea Smyrni, and Agios Dimitrios. The suspect was threatening employees with a knife to steal cash from registers.
The police investigation led to the arrest on Monday morning (June 30, 2025), when officers from the Daphni-Hymettus Criminal Investigations Unit surrounded the suspect’s home. During the operation, they encountered a 42-year-old man who attempted to alert the suspect by shouting, hoping to prevent his arrest. Both individuals were taken into custody— the 34-year-old for robbery and possession of a weapon, and the 42-year-old for harboring a criminal, use of violence against officials, and complicity in robbery.
Inside the suspect’s residence, police found clothing worn during previous heists. According to the investigation, the 34-year-old acted either alone or with accomplices—including another individual who remains at large—committing 11 robberies over the past month. These crimes involved threats with knives or physical violence against employees.
This is not the first time the suspect has come into conflict with the law, as he has a long criminal record involving multiple offenses. The two suspects have since been presented before the competent prosecutor.
