Authorities arrested a 25-year-old undocumented migrant during a protest outside Athens’ Panteion University, following a complaint filed by a young woman in the area. Officers from the DIAS (Rapid Intervention Unit) apprehended the suspect—identified by the initials G.A.—after he allegedly harassed and attempted to assault a 26-year-old woman near an underground pedestrian crossing adjacent to the university campus.
‘He Followed Me for Hours’
Speaking to Star TV, the victim described feeling threatened: ‘He followed me for hours—I became fearful of his intentions. When I emerged onto the street, I headed toward a crowded area; he stopped and watched me from a distance.’
Repeated Encounters with Authorities
According to police sources, the suspect has been living near that underground crossing for several months and is already known to law enforcement. He has been arrested three times and formally presented before authorities on three additional occasions—twice for lacking legal residency documents and once for attempted theft at the Acropolis.
He now faces charges for violation of sexual dignity and illegal entry into Greece.
