Halkidiki: 57-year-old sexually harassed his 13-year-old friend’s daughter

In a six-month prison sentence with a three-year suspension sentenced by a Three-member court-martial a 57-year-old accused of the minor daughter of his best friend. Sexual harassment occurred in August 2019 in Halkidiki, when the 13-year-old girl was at sea with her parents as well as members of the accused’s family. According to the indictment, the 57-year-old reportedly proceeded to obscene touchings against her and the minor immediately denounced the incident. The young woman testified before the court what was shockingly experienced that day, while the defendant did not attend the trial and through his lawyer denied the charge. The secondary court found him guilty of insulting sexual dignity, imposing the above sentence. He was first sentenced to eight months in prison – and for the offence of illegal violence, for which he was finally acquitted. “It is an important day for justice and a vindication for this girl and what she went through at such an early age,” the advocate in support of the accusation, Stathis Kolias, told Voria.gr.
