GSEE Strike: Paralyzes the country on Wednesday – How to move Transport

The whole country is paralyzing tomorrow Wednesday (20.11. 24) because of the 24-hour announcement of ADEDY and in which many branches will participate. Workers from the public and private sectors are involved in the GSEE and ADEDY strike, while the impact on traffic is expected, as workers in public transport have stated that they will take part in the mobilisations. Media workers will participate in the strike with job stops, while doctors and teachers will take part in the mobilisation. Work stops in Metro With stops of work will involve the workers at Metro (lines 2 and 3) in the 24-hour strike of the GSEE since according to the announcement of the Athens Metro Workers’ Association (SELMA) it was decided to stop work from the start of traffic until 9:00 a.m. and from 21:00 until the end of traffic. “We claim recruitments of permanent and regular staff for all vacant organic positions, reinstate 13th and 14th wages, substantial increases in basic wages, public free health, public free education, fight against excess profit in the kinds of need and living, extension to the contracts of the employees with the STAY DYPA programme,” the SELMA notes. This decision, stressed by the SELMA, was made in order to serve strikers and to be able to go massively to the rallies. At the same time, however, the union says that those workers who wish to do so can strike around the clock with GSEE coverage. During the same hours, the electric railway is reportedly expected to perform work stops (Line 1 Metro) and Tram. According to the same hours (09:00 – 21:00) electric rail trains are expected to move, (Line 1 Metro) and Tram. Official announcements of the STATY and Tram workers’ associations are expected. Workstations and buses and trolleybuses Bus and trolley workers have announced work stops from shift start to 09:00 and from 21:00 to shift end. Urban bus lines served by the Attica Transport Consortium and the Buses will function normally, as reported in a OASA announcement. However, in OASTH, due to the strike, only 50 security personnel buses will be available, while the airport’s night line (N1) and the disabled service service service service will function normally. In the 24-hour strike of the GSEE the railway operators decided to participate, by decision of the Pan-Hellenic Railway Federation (POS). Following this decision, part of the routes of Hellenic Train, including the Athens suburban city with security personnel, are expected to take place. The ships bound will remain the ships in the ports, as the Panhellenic Naval Federation (PNO) unanimously decided to participate in the strike. Strike in hospitals and schools Hospital doctors are also involved in the strike. In a communication, private teachers stress that they strike with main demands to restore the status of collective bargaining in Fruits, Language Schools and SAEKs (formerly IEKs) and salary increases and gift returns to private schools. Participation in the 24-hour strike was announced by the builders. The participation of the banking sector in the 24-hour strike was announced by OTOE. The strike declared by the General Confederation of Workers of Greece (GSEE) is attended by the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Food Workers; Tourism (POET). Strike concentrations GSEE and ADEDY have invited a meeting at Klathmonos Square at 11:00 , while earlier, PAME will hold a meeting in Propylaia at 10:30 .
