The 14-year-old girl who reported being gang-raped at a house in Keratsini on Tuesday night (01.07.2025) remains in severe psychological distress. New details have emerged about the horrifying incident. According to reports, the teenager had an argument with her parents and stormed out of her home. She later met up with an 18-year-old she connected with via social media, who led her to a 16-year-old’s house in Keratsini.

ERT sources claim that the 18-year-old, along with a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, used drugs, immobilized the girl, and raped her. Afterward, they let her leave but threatened that if she spoke about the assault, they would harm her. The girl wandered the streets of Piraeus for hours in shock before police were alerted by her worried parents.

Officers from the DIAS unit found the girl in a terrible condition. So far, the 18-year-old, 17-year-old, and 16-year-old have been arrested. A mother of one suspect has also been detained and charged with child neglect. However, a 20-year-old, reportedly present during the attack but not directly involved, remains missing.

A forensic doctor found traumatic injuries and bruises on the girl’s body, corroborating her account. DNA samples were collected to identify the perpetrators.

Authorities are investigating the girl’s phone records and messages exchanged with the 18-year-old. It appears the two had known each other for some time, and in recent conversations, one of the suspects repeatedly encouraged the girl to lie to her family so she could sneak out late at night.

In one message exchange, the suspect urged her: ‘Go tell them I’m going to my best friend’s because she isn’t feeling well. I’ll come pick you up, we’ll talk about your problems, and tomorrow we can do whatever you want.’

In another message, he wrote: ‘I want you here now. Don’t worry about anything. If anyone asks where you were, say you were at my friend’s place.’

Their messages show detailed planning for their meeting:

Girl: Will you come pick me up from Agios Georgios? Wait by the kiosk next to the elementary school with green railings.

Suspect: Want to meet at the square?

Girl: How about Cyprus Street?

Suspect: Come to [name of a restaurant].’

This tragic case highlights the dangers children face online and the urgent need for stronger safeguards.
