The globally renowned St. Catherine’s Monastery is at risk of being converted into a museum, sparking outrage in the Christian world. ‘The Greek Foreign Minister immediately contacted his counterpart in Egypt,’ stated Labor and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameos. The monastery’s properties in Egypt are set to transfer to Egyptian public ownership, risking the loss of its religious character after two millennia. Speaking on MEGA TV’s Live News with Nicos Evangelatos, Kerameos emphasized the gravity of this judicial decision. She also highlighted advancements in pension processing and the digitalization of records, aiming to streamline procedures significantly. Additionally, she addressed labor reforms, protecting workers’ rights, boosting tourism-related overtime hours, and efforts to repatriate Greek workers from abroad.
