Greek Party ‘Elliniki Lysi’ Boycotts Presidential Oath Ceremony

Following Zoe Konstantopoulou, Kyriakos Velopoulos of the Greek political party ‘Elliniki Lysi’ has announced that he will boycott the presidential swearing-in ceremony of Konstantinos Tasoulas. The announcement stated that they cannot attend the oath of a president who is currently under judicial investigation. The statement from Elliniki Lysi highlighted that as President of the Parliament, Tasoulas allegedly buried complaints against political figures related to the Tempi scandal. They emphasized their stance on integrity and political ethics, asserting that it would be neither honorable nor ethical to honor someone they did not vote for. The party vowed to serve values rather than offices and continue being the voice of the people.
