On May 8, 2025, Greece’s Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastamou, along with Deputy Minister Nikos Tsafos and the Managing Director of the Greek Management Company for Energy Resources, Aristophanes Stefanatos, visited Chevron’s headquarters in Houston, USA. This visit aligns with the Greek government’s efforts to develop the hydrocarbon sector. They were welcomed by Chevron International Exploration and Production President Clay Neff and Vice President Liz Schwarze. During his arrival, Minister Papastamou stated: “We are delighted to be at Chevron’s offices following their expressed interest in exploring hydrocarbons in Greece. My presence here with a high-level delegation highlights our commitment and determination to explore Greece’s natural resources for the benefit of all Greek citizens and to expedite the international tender process as soon as possible.” After the meeting, the delegation toured Chevron’s ultra-modern security center, where real-time global drilling operations are monitored. Today, the Greek delegation will also visit ExxonMobil and Cheniere Energy.
