Projects exceeding €1.5 million in the fields of infrastructure, culture, and tourism in the Municipality of Aristotle are funded under the company’s social investment program. The aim of these interventions is to boost local development through projects with strong social, cultural, and environmental impact. This initiative aligns with the corporate responsibility strategy of Greek Gold and forms part of a broader plan to support the wider Chalkidiki region. The relevant agreements were signed yesterday (May 12, 2025) and include: the restoration and upgrade of public spaces in the square of Arnaias, involving hydraulic repairs and road renovations with a budget over €500,000; the renovation of the historic house of Alexis Zorba for €300,000 to create a cultural landmark; funding of €200,000 for enhancing trails leading to the Barbara waterfalls; and technical studies worth €600,000 aimed at unlocking larger national and European funds. Mayor Stelios Valianos emphasized the importance of maximizing benefits for the local community while ensuring minimal environmental impact. Mathieu Vallart, Director of Sustainable Development at Greek Gold, highlighted their commitment to impactful projects that enhance daily life and regional development beyond mining.
