Greek exports hit €4 billion in January 2025, marking a 2.2% increase compared to January 2024, according to data from ELSTAT processed by SEVE. In contrast, imports rose by 4.7%. Specifically, the value of Greek exports reached €4,097.1 million in January 2025 compared to €4,008.9 million in January 2024. Imports increased by €308.4 million, or 4.7%, rising from €6,598.0 million last year to €6,906.4 million this year. The trade deficit widened by €220.2 million, or 8.5%, reaching -€2,809.3 million versus -€2,589.1 million last year. Without petroleum products, exports grew by 9.9% to €2,956.2 million, while imports also climbed by 9.9% to €5,126.0 million. Notably, food exports surged by €115.1 million (18.6%), and industrial products saw an increase of €35.8 million (6.9%). However, machinery and vehicles exports dropped by €30.6 million (-8.3%), and oil exports fell significantly by €104.4 million (-7.5%). About 55.3% of exports went to EU member states, with the remaining 44.7% destined for third countries.
