Greek Banks Set to Hold Shareholders’ General Assemblies and Dividend Distributions

The period of general assemblies for Greek banks is approaching, starting next week, with preparations underway for dividend distributions to shareholders based on 2024 earnings. Piraeus Bank, which already held its shareholders’ general assembly on April 14, will distribute dividends on May 30. The bank plans to distribute €385 million (35% of 2024 profits), approximately €0.298 per share. On April 30, Eurobank’s general assembly will take place, with dividend distribution scheduled for May 9. Eurobank will distribute €674 million in cash dividends (€0.105 per share) and €288 million through share buybacks. Alpha Bank will begin its dividend distribution on May 29 after holding its general assembly on May 21. Dividends from Alpha Bank will total €281 million, representing 43% of net profits, with 75% allocated for share buybacks (€70 million in cash and €211 million buyback). The cash dividend amounts to €0.30 per share, totaling €0.119 per share including own-share purchases. National Bank of Greece will hold its general assembly on May 30 and distribute dividends on June 10, paying €0.433 per share in cash and a total of €0.633 per share including own-share purchases. Optima Bank will conduct its annual general assembly on April 29 and start dividend distribution on June 27, distributing €42 million to shareholders. Lastly, Bank of Cyprus will hold its annual general assembly on May 16 and initiate dividend distribution on June 25, paying €0.48 per share.
