Greek and Turkish Foreign Ministers Discuss Upcoming Cooperation Council and Regional Developments

Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, on March 18, 2025. The meeting took place on the sidelines of an informal expanded meeting on the Cyprus issue under the auspices of the UN. According to diplomatic sources, the discussions focused on evaluating the informal extended meeting on Cyprus and how best to implement the agreements reached. The conversation also covered international and regional developments, particularly focusing on Ukraine and the Middle East, including Syria. Both ministers discussed the upcoming Supreme Cooperation Council scheduled for April and agreed to meet again during the NATO Foreign Ministers’ Session on April 3-4, 2025.
