Greece – Russia: At 173.8m euros the deficit reached the trade balance in September

At 173.8m euros the deficit reached the trade balance – in September 2024, at the expense of our country. The value of Greek imports from Russia amounted to EUR 180,8 million, with a decrease of 14,9 % compared to September 2023, which was EUR 212,4 million. The value of Greece’s exports to Russia amounted to 7.1m euros, increasing 9.9% compared to September 2023, which was 6.4m euros. In the 9 month period, the value of imports of Greece from Russia amounted to EUR 1,200,4 million, with a decrease of 43,8 % compared to January-September 2023, which was EUR 2,135,1 million. The value of Greece’s exports to Russia amounted to 65.7m euros, decreasing 10.1% compared to January-2023, which was 73.1m euros. The trade balance between Greece and Russia was negative and amounted to 1,134.7m euros (deficit). On the other hand, according to ELSTAT, in September 2024 the value of Greek imports from Ukraine amounted to 40.0m euros, with an increase of 32.4% compared to September 2023, which was 30.2m euros. The value of Greece’s exports to Ukraine amounted to 80.6m euros, with a 2.5% decrease compared to September 2023, which was 82.7m euros. The trade balance between Greece and Ukraine was positive and amounted to 40.6m euros. In the 9 month period, the value of Greek imports from Ukraine amounted to 290.9m euros, with an increase of 38.1% compared to January-September 2023, which was 210.7m euros. The value of Greece’s exports to Ukraine amounted to 982.0m euros, with an 83% increase compared to January-2023, which was 538.2m euros.
