In a late-night vote on Friday, March 7, 2025, the no-confidence motion against the government was rejected with 157 votes against and 136 in favor. The proposal, initiated by PASOK, SYRIZA, New Left, Flight to Freedom, and nine independent MPs, was rooted in the Tempi disaster controversy. A total of 293 MPs participated in the vote, with seven absent: former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, independent MP Marios Salmas (formerly from ND), and five MPs from the Spartiates party. Supporting the government were 156 MPs from New Democracy, including Dimitris Kyriazidis, and independent MP Haralambos Katsivardas. Conversely, 136 MPs voted in favor of the no-confidence motion, representing PASOK, SYRIZA, New Left, Flight to Freedom, and independent members. Over three days of debate spanning 42 hours, 172 speakers addressed the chamber, including 126 MPs, 26 ministers and deputy ministers, eight party leaders, the Prime Minister, nine parliamentary representatives, and two former prime ministers.
