The government has categorically rejected rumors of early elections, emphasizing its commitment to implementing its four-year program. During the announcement of new measures derived from the surplus, as well as those planned for September’s DETh (Tax Relief Day), Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted the administration’s focus on fulfilling pre-election promises. “We are merely executing our electoral program,” Mitsotakis stated, underscoring salary increases, tax reductions, and overall disposable income support. The prime minister reiterated his pledge to hold elections at the end of the term in 2027, noting that each year will progressively improve. With key milestones in June and September, the government aims to boost public morale through initiatives targeting housing issues, pensioner support, and public investments. By strengthening middle-class incomes, the government hopes to address voter concerns and regain lost ground ahead of future elections. The upcoming DETh event in September will unveil targeted tax relief measures for the middle class, including potential ENFIA abolishment for primary residences, reduced tax rates for medium-income earners, and adjustments for freelancers and pensioners.
