Gothenburg Film Festival pays tribute to Julie Dragon Awarded Delpi

Gothenburg, Scandinavia’s largest film and television event, this year pays tribute to a unique personality of seventh art: to French-American and director Zilie Delpi. With two Oscar nominations the well-known actress, Julie Delpi will receive at the Film Festival in Gothenburg, the Dragon Honorary Award, while sharing her experiences and thoughts in a discussion with the public about her new film, “Meet the Barbarians”. CORVERSE The film follows the journey of a family from Syria who finds refuge in a village in Northern France. “Zili Delpi is a special voice in the film world,” said Gothenburg artistic director Pia Lundberg, according to Variety. “Her work combines humor, depth and sensitivity in a way that finds great appeal to the public worldwide. She is a pioneer, a source of inspiration and we are truly proud to honor her with this year’s “Dragon” award”. Gothenburg Film Festival 2025 will take place from 24 January to 3 February, with the famous director receiving the award on 29 January during the screening of “Meet the Barbarians” in Biograf Draken, the city.
