Thousands of people continue to take to the streets in Istanbul to express their anger over the arrest of the city’s mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu. During the protests on Wednesday (26/03/2025), a giant Pikachu joined thousands of citizens who took to the streets of Istanbul to protest against the arrest. As seen in videos that have gone viral online, the massive yellow Pokémon runs through the crowd after police began using water cannons to disperse the protesters. While at least 1,900 people have been arrested in Turkey so far, Pikachu managed to remain free and became a symbol of the anti-Erdogan uprising.
