Giannis Kostakis finished fourth in his series, was cancelled, but managed through qualifying for the 50-metre front final, at 2024. Giannis Kostakis was initially eliminated from the 50m front in the category SB2, at the Paralympic Games, held in Paris. The 52-year-old Greek swimmer participated in the first qualifying series of the race and finished in 4th place, covering the distance in a minute, 11 seconds and six cm. However, shortly after the finish, it was cancelled by the judges. But as was then known, Giannis Kostakis – who has taken part in seven (!) Paralympic Games – will be in the final of the race. Upon posting on social media, the Greek Paralympic Committee informed that the Greek mission objected to the cancellation of Kostakis, which the Greek athlete thus qualified for the final as 7th with 1:11.06. The final is scheduled at 19:35 Greek time
