In a new episode of the Thanalysis Show podcast hosted by his brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Giannis Antetokounmpo revealed details about his conversation with Michael Jordan. He also shared insights from his training notebook with Kobe Bryant and his first meeting with Greek basketball legend Nikos Galis. The Thanalysis Show featured an exclusive interview where the Milwaukee Bucks star highlighted his efforts to meet Michael Jordan during their joint celebration as two of the NBA’s top 75 players in history. ‘I think he knew who I was, but as a kid from Greece, at 27 years old then, I didn’t know if he still watched basketball and recognized me,’ Giannis recounted. ‘But the way he looked at me was like giving me… the baton! No exaggeration, he told me, “the way you play, so hard, is an inspiration.” Giannis emphasized that he felt a unique aura around Michael Jordan, similar to what he experienced with Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and Nikos Galis. ‘I still have the notebook with everything Kobe said during our training sessions—it means so much to me,’ stated the ‘Greek Freak.’ For Kevin Garnett, he mentioned how Garnett’s words could make you feel like breaking through walls. Lastly, Giannis spoke fondly of the Greek basketball legend Nikos Galis, saying, ‘For those who don’t know Nikos Galis, he is one of the greatest players of all time and a Hall of Famer! I was thrilled when I met him at dinner and listened to his stories.’
