Ghosts, Tight Budgets, and Cookies That Don’t Crumble – Augustidis and Tringou Arrive While Kalouta Doesn’t ‘Make It’!

The equations that the teams of television channels are called upon to solve during this period are difficult and require mathematical dexterity akin to Einstein’s just to get their cookies right! Advertising revenue predictions are very pessimistic, while the continued departure of more viewers from national general content channels strengthens concerns about further reductions in revenue… causing even more chaos in planning. The case with the comedy series ‘Your Soy,’ which they tried to… put brakes on from ALPHA itself, is indicative… and worrying, certainly for what happens behind the scenes… and not only. To avoid creating anxiety among the actors and viewers who wish for a return, I clarify that… for now… the successful series has received the ‘green light’ from the station’s management, which will, however, be forced to restrict something else from its plans… and possibly obligations they had…! And I don’t see ‘dragons’ and ‘ghosts,’ but I learn the backstage reality behind the… fairy tales being told…! Finally, after the official announcement, it’s confirmed that next season on STAR will feature ‘The Ghosts’! I declare myself an enthusiastic viewer of both the original British Ghosts and the American version, and I believe that the Greek adaptation, by Lefteris Papapetrou (creator of series like ‘Crimes,’ ‘You’re My Partner,’ ‘Kato Partali,’ and others), will be of equal quality. The series production has been undertaken by Tanweer Productions and represents a very challenging domestic production as viewers will see the ghosts, but not everyone around them, significantly raising the difficulty level of effects and required repeated takes. The complex direction is handled by Amalia Giannikou, and the nine main, heart-stealing, and quirky ghosts will be portrayed by Natalia Tsaliki, Agoritsa Oikonomou, Thodoris Skyftoulis, Aris Troupakis, Haris Fleuras, Alkis Bakogiannis, Evangelia Karakatsani, Nikos Yallelis, and Stelios Iakovidis. The central couple living amongst them will be played by Orfeas Augustidis and Elli Tringou, making her first appearance in a comedy… but yes… I hear she’s magical there! Correction: They are all magical! Let’s come down from the ‘magic’ to reality and clarify that I’m not happy when a show is ‘cut’ or, to put it more elegantly, ‘completed,’ but alright… I admit I’m not upset that Jerome Kalouta won’t continue his show on ERT. The show ‘We Made It’ didn’t reach… deservedly… the viewers, and its cycle has concluded, with the talented – in other professional activities – Jerome finishing his collaboration with public broadcasting. And don’t celebrate yet because other… shows, for unknown reasons… got the ‘green light,’ apparently because ERT management can’t find… propose… anything better. Notably, Fotis Sergoupoulos and Tzeni Melita will continue saying ‘Good Morning Greece’ without – and here rightly! – any action taken by the viewers to actually ‘see’ it! A pity… for the experienced Sergoupoulos, who seems to have been left in ERT’s comfort zone since otherwise, he wouldn’t be in the ‘seen’ segment of that particular show…! With a quiz for airing today’s quiz, apart from the main figure, no one else among the remaining cast, both in front and behind the cameras, has finalized contracts. The staff is desperately trying to solve the budget equation, which has risen significantly due to the demands of the main figure. And they can’t ask others to ‘cut something for me’ since regarding their own ‘fund,’ it remains at high… collection…!
