Two people were killed when a small, tourist aircraft crashed into the roof of a residential house in Ganderkesee, a municipality in northwestern Germany near Oldenburg. The incident occurred on the morning of Saturday, 25 July.
Crash Details
The light aircraft — identified as a Tecnam P2010 TDI with registration D-EYJK — struck the tiled roof of the home, penetrating it upon impact. The crash destroyed the cockpit and tore both wings from the fuselage, scattering debris across the site.
Victims Identified
Initially, police reported one fatality and one person missing. By evening, authorities confirmed that both occupants — two men aged 65 and 77 from Bremen — had died in the crash.
Recovery and Investigation
According to the police chief of Delmenhorst, a “long and complex” investigation at the wreckage site confirmed the fatalities. The damaged aircraft has since been removed, and residents of the affected home have returned to their property. German authorities are now investigating the cause of the accident.
