Five weeks before in . The centre-right Christian Union (CDU/CSU) maintains its clear lead in a new poll, however records losses, as did the second party, the far-right “Alternate for Germany” (AfD). According to an INSA institute poll on behalf of Bild Am Sonntag for the upcoming early elections in Germany, CDU/CSU lead with 29% (-1), while AfD remains in second place with 21% (-1). CORVERSE The Social Democratic Party (SPD) is stable at 16%, as are the Greens at 13%. The Zara Vagenknecht Alliance (BSW) follows with 7% (+1) and the Free Democrats Party (FDP) is at the entry limit in the Bundestag with 5% (+1). If the polling findings were verified in the polls, the only two-party government coalition that would be numerically feasible would be between CDU/CSU and AfD. However, the CDU leader and candidate chancellor, Friedrich Murch, has repeatedly ruled out cooperation with the extreme right party, “no matter how many Members he elects”.
